The Protective Clothing for Wildland Firefighters complies with the requirements of:

The protective clothing may be manufactured in dark blue or sand colour.

Intended Use

The clothing is designed to protect personnel during the suppression of surface forest fires, fires involving dry vegetation, stubble, shrubs and other fires occurring in natural ecosystems.

Thanks to its lightweight construction, the garment provides freedom of movement and reduces the physical strain placed on the wearer during prolonged outdoor operations.

One of the principal advantages of the suit is its reduced weight compared with conventional structural firefighting clothing. This significantly reduces personnel fatigue during extended operations in open areas.

Particular attention has been given to effective heat and moisture management. The materials used in the suit facilitate the release of excess heat and the evaporation of moisture generated during intensive physical activity. This helps maintain a comfortable microclimate beneath the clothing, even in hot weather, and reduces the risk of heat exhaustion.

The suit also provides a high level of comfort during work in vehicles, forest patrols, preventive operations and duty shifts. The wearer can remain fully equipped for extended periods without needing to remove the clothing to restore personal comfort.

Reliable Protection

The suit is manufactured from modern flame-resistant materials that provide:

  • protection against exposure to open flame;
  • resistance to radiant heat;
  • protection against elevated temperatures;
  • protection against mechanical hazards during emergency and rescue operations.

The retroreflective elements of the protective clothing improve the wearer’s visibility in low-light conditions, smoke and adverse weather conditions.

The retroreflective strips are positioned to ensure that the wearer’s silhouette can be recognised from different directions.

Practicality and Functionality

The suit is equipped with spacious and functional pockets for carrying communication equipment, personal protective equipment and other essential items.

Reliable fittings and high-quality seams ensure a long service life, even under intensive operating conditions. Soft internal surfaces and a comfortable fit allow the suit to be worn for many hours without discomfort.

The materials are highly resistant to wear, repeated washing and environmental exposure. This enables the garment to retain its protective properties and neat appearance over a long period of daily use.

Jacket Design

The jacket features an extended-length cut that provides additional protection to the lower back and prevents the body from becoming exposed during bending, squatting or active movement across difficult terrain.

The central fastening is securely covered by a protective storm flap, which helps prevent heat, sparks and small mechanical particles from entering the garment.

The sleeve design provides natural freedom of arm movement when working with firefighting tools, hose lines and backpack fire extinguishers.

Reinforced sections in areas exposed to the greatest mechanical stress improve the durability and abrasion resistance of the garment.

Trouser Design

The trousers feature an ergonomic cut that provides comfort during walking, running and operations on slopes or uneven terrain.

Reinforced panels in the knee area and at the lower part of the trouser legs provide protection against mechanical damage, contact with vegetation and abrasive surfaces.
